The German Initiative for Network Information (DINI) is looking for ideas for innovative teaching and learning concepts at colleges and universities.

The Corona pandemic showed that many tools and concepts of purely digital teaching and learning could be implemented quickly and successfully to a large extent. Nevertheless, many lacked the presence at the universities, the social moment as well as the informal exchange with teachers and students.

Learning and teaching in the near future will certainly not remain purely digital, nor will it completely revert to the usual face-to-face teaching.

What matters now is to develop and implement innovative and creative approaches to hybrid teaching and learning formats that rethink the interaction potentials between on-site classroom scenarios and mobile digital scenarios. In this context, it must be taken into account that this hybrid interaction not only has a technical-informational component, but also a social component. The harnessing of such concepts also opens up new opportunities for ecological sustainability, the international networking of students and teachers, and for inclusion and social participation.

The German Initiative for Network Information (DINI) is looking for:

  • innovative ideas and proven teaching and learning formats
  • student initiatives for hybrid learning and networking
  • creative implementations of simultaneous virtual and real learning environments that focus on social presence
  • sustainable concepts for collaborative learning in hybrid settings
  • tools for location- and time-independent learning that can be transferred to different subject contexts
  • Tools and skills for hybrid learning
  • ...

Students from all universities in Germany can enter the competition as individuals or teams until June 1, 2022. Visions can be submitted as idea sketches, concept papers or other creative contributions in digital form. The criteria of the competition are innovation, creativity, usability, feasibility and scope of the submitted contributions. The best ideas will be awarded up to 5,000 euros.
