The "Basic Services" team

The "Basic Services" team is an essential part of the TU's IT infrastructure and is responsible for the smooth operation and maintenance of central services used throughout the university. The team's main tasks include

  • AD & Mail Administration and operation of the Active Directory (AD), which serves as the central database for user accounts, groups and other objects and provides the basis for authentication and authorization within TU's network resources. In addition, this area includes the e-mail services, including Exchange and Unimail, which ensure communication within the university and with external partners.
  • Citrix VDI Implementation and maintenance of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions using Citrix, enabling users to access desktop environments and applications from any location, increasing flexibility and mobility for users.
  • Matrix 42
    • Software Distribution Centralized distribution and management of software applications to ensure that all users have access to the tools and resources they need for their academic and administrative tasks.
    • Ticketing, processes & workflows: Introduction and maintenance of a ticketing system for efficient processing of inquiries and problems. This also includes the optimization of processes and workflows to ensure fast and effective resolution of IT-related issues.
    • MDM (Mobile Device Management): Management of mobile devices to ensure security and compliance while facilitating access to university resources.
  • SIC Monitoring and management of security incidents and events to strengthen technical IT security within the university and proactively respond to potential threats.
