The Security Information Center (sic) at TU Dortmund University offers a way to test suspicious e-mails and attachments without confidential data leaving TU Dortmund University.

To do this, save suspicious attachments and upload them to pandora.sic.tu-dortmund.de by clicking on the "Submit" button.

The most important feature is a preview of attachments that is safe for the user. This allows you to get an impression of what it is. Furthermore, Pandora performs various tests to assess the danger of an attachment before you have to have it tested by the sic. In this way, we hope to be able to process suspicious cases more effectively.

Pandora is not a replacement for your local virus scanner! Even if Pandora is "all green", it may still be malware. If Pandora displays "red", it is highly likely that something is wrong, but everything may also be ok. Pandora will only give you further clues, your suspicion is still required.

Please use pandora.sic.tu-dortmund.de

The project is still very new and we are happy to receive error messages and experience reports.

Pandora only works in the TU/VPN network. A localization in German is planned.
