Maintenance work on the eduroam network

On Friday, 28.11.2025 between 06:00 and 08:00, we will renew the server certificates on the RADIUS servers used for the WLAN SSID eduroam.

Effects

 

1. devices that have been set up with the eduroam CAT tool according to the instructions in the service portal:

 

If you have configured your WLAN with the eduroam CAT tool as described in the article in the service portal, no adverse effects are to be expected. Your device will automatically trust the new certificate and will continue to connect to eduroam after the changeover without prompting.

(Note: During the maintenance period, the connection may be interrupted for a short time).

2. devices for which the certificate was accepted manually when connecting for the first time:

 

If you confirmed the certificate manually when you first connected to eduroam (e.g. by "Accept certificate" without prior profile installation), a certificate warning will probably be displayed after the changeover.

In this case, you have two options:

 

1. recommended:

Set up eduroam again with the eduroam CAT tool according to the instructions in the service portal:

2. alternatively (only for experienced users):

Compare the displayed certificate fingerprint with the values given below.

 

* If the fingerprints match exactly, you can confirm the certificate.
